Accessibility Status
At Port-Care Cosmetics Ltd., we believe that the internet should be available and accessible to everyone, and we strive to provide a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstances and ability. To achieve this, we aim to adhere as closely as possible to the Israeli Standard 5568 Accessibility Guidelines for Internet Content at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. Compliance with these guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: the blind, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website is accessible according to these guidelines and also uses various technologies intended to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities and without a screen reader to adjust the website’s user interface to their personal needs.
Using a Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation on Our Website
Our website implements the ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various behavioral changes, to ensure that blind users visiting our site with screen readers can read, understand, and enjoy the site’s functions. When a screen-reader user enters our site, they can enter the screen-reader profile to browse and operate the site efficiently. Our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, including:
- Screen-reader optimization: We provide significant data through the ARIA feature set. For example, we supply accurate form labels; actionable icon descriptions (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (pop-ups), and others. Additionally, our background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful description based on object-recognition as an ALT tag (alternative text) for images not described. This process also extracts texts embedded within images using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. To activate screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt + 1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also receive automatic notifications to activate the screen-reader mode once they enter the website. These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
- Keyboard navigation optimization: Users can navigate the website using the Tab and Shift + Tab keys, activate and browse with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, activate links with Enter, navigate between radio elements and checkboxes with the arrow keys, and fill them with the spacebar or Enter. Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation menus and skip-to-content options available at any time on the website while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered pop-ups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear and not allowing the focus to drift out of them. Users can also use shortcuts like “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
In addition, the website uses the free One Click Accessibility application, which operates in the background. This component optimizes our website’s accessibility level. It adjusts the functionality and behavior of the website for screen readers/devices used by blind users and keyboard functions used by people with motor disabilities, with or without the use of any screen reader.
Accessibility Profiles Supported on Our Website
- Epilepsy Safe Profile: This profile allows people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures resulting from flashing animations and risky color combinations.
- Vision Impaired Profile: This profile adjusts the website to be accessible to the majority of visual impairments such as degrading eyesight, tunnel vision, cataract, glaucoma, and others.
- Cognitive Disability Profile: This profile provides various assistive features to help users with cognitive disabilities like autism, dyslexia, CVA, and others, focus on the essential elements more easily.
